Happy Friday all, weβre delighted to launch our Community Re-turn bin as part of Green Club activities.
OisΓn Nicholson (U8) and Jarlath Kavanagh (U7) helped start us off by dropping a bottle and can in the new bin after the St. Patricks days celebrations in the club house this week β
The Bin is located inside the front door of the club house for ease of use. It will not only help us recycle our plastic bottles and aluminium cans but will reduce litter in the community and help us raise some funds for the club and our teams. When the bin is full we will partner with our local Aldi for a refund which can go towards team gear and events.
The plan will be to rotate responsibility for filling and emptying the bin amongst our teams. So if you see any bottles on the all-weather or the River valley, Ridgewood or Nevinstown pitches, pick them up and drop them in the bin when youβre passing. Or if you have a bag of cans and bottles in the boot or the kitchen why not give them to your club ?
Just like your recycling at home, please make sure the bottles and cans are empty and as clean as possible. Our club will now be added to the Re-turn Community Initiative Map designed to help the public find local initiatives to support using donations from the scheme β»
Help the planet and our players by giving us your bottles and cans !
If you have any ideas on how to make the club greener and more sustainable please drop us an e-mail to greenteam@stfinians.com π
