St. Finians’ U11 girls had a busy and exciting outing this weekend as our three teams – The DollFins, Lions and Cheetahs – travelled to Finglas to take on Erin’s Isle in the first round of the LGFA fixtures since the summer break.

The DollFins showed their teamwork from the throw-in, moving the ball with quick handpasses and finding some excellent scores. Their defensive work was just as impressive, with blocks and tackles that kept Erin’s Isle under pressure throughout.

The Lions lived up to their name, showing fierce spirit and never giving up on any ball. They chased every loose pass, supported one another and put in some great kicking displays. Their hard work was rewarded with some fine points and goals.

The Cheetahs displayed real speed and flair, breaking forward at pace and linking up beautifully. Their passing and movement opened up scoring chances, while their determination in defence made sure they held strong right to the final whistle.

Erin’s Isle deserve huge credit too – their players showed fantastic skill and spirit across all three games, making it a brilliant hour of football.

A big thanks to the parents and supporters for travelling and cheering the girls on.
