What. A. Weekend! 🇮🇪✈️🇬🇧
Our 2010 girls returned from London with memories that will last a lifetime after an unforgettable weekend packed with fun, belly laughs and plenty of sightseeing, from riverboats down the Thames, a trip to the London Dungeons, Big Ben, lunch in borough market, Leicester Sq, China town, shopping till they dropped in Westfield and SO much more.
From the moment we arrived, the girls embraced every minute of the trip. They quite literally covered the length and breadth of London, each clocking over 20,000 steps each day in a staggering 37°C heat—one of the hottest June weekends on record in London. Not once did they complain. They just consumed gallons of water and ice creams and got on with it😊 looked after one another and made the most of every single experience.
The girls represented themselves, their families and our club with absolute pride. They were an absolute credit to themselves. We couldn't have been prouder of them.
Although our scheduled match had to be cancelled due to the extreme heat, we'd like to extend a huge thank you to @Tarayouthgfc and @tir_chonaill_gaels for their incredible hospitality. They welcomed us with open arms, treated the girls to breakfast, and looked after us so well on our visit. We were also lucky enough to enjoy a fantastic Ladies match between both clubs—a brilliant experience for all the girls🏐
And, in the interests of full disclosure... we can proudly report that we didn't lose a single girl all weekend! We did, however, temporarily misplace one of the coaches. Thankfully, he was located safely in St. Paul's Cathedral, where he informed us he was saying a prayer for the Dubs ahead of Sunday's match! We'll let him away with that one... 😂💙
A huge thank you to everyone who helped make the trip possible, especially our coaches, mentors, parents and also our amazing club secretary Anita who was a trooper behind the scenes working with London GAA and Dublin LGFA. Most importantly, thank you to our amazing girls for making the weekend so special. You represented our club brilliantly, and we're so proud of each and every one of you.
