This was the first adult hurling game of 2021 and our first game since September 2020.

We played a very organised and well drilled Skerries team who had won the Junior B championship in 2020.

Skerries had wind advantage in the 1st half and we got off to a good start with an excellent point by Adam McGuirk and traded scores with Skerries for the 1st 20 minutes of the 1st half. A goal and 4 points without reply in the final 10 minutes for Skerries gave them a 10 point lead at halftime.

With the aid of a significant breeze and increased work rate in the 2nd half we clawed our way back into the game and scored 1 - 7 to Skerries 1 - 8 in the 2nd half.

We were missing 4 players through injury. 3 players made their St Finians adult hurling debut yesterday, Dylan Gray , Adam McGurk and Mike Gormally who all played very well against a very physical and skillful Skerries team.
