The ALF5 Adult Players continued their great start to the season with a convincing home win last night in Nevinstown.
The game got off to a fast start with weather conditions playing a role in the early exchanges.
Some great early pressure seen Finian's take the lead with a great score from James (Bazzy) Doyle who continues to show great early form.
Davy Butler won a short kick out and moved the ball quickly into the forwards which was picked up by Liam Kiernan who stuck over a great point. Liam was making his debut after coming through from the Minor set up last year.
Points from Lee Kavanagh (1) Conor Halpin (2) Scott Brennan (1) leading to the break had the lads in a commanding lead. Just before the half time whistle a superb ball picked up by Davy Butler from a long kick out from Stephen McNally caught the Davis lads cold. A quick passage of passes left Fiachra Comber heading towards goal. He hit a brilliant left foot shot which the keeper had no chance with.
Finian's went into the break leading 1-06 to 0-03
Second Half started with both teams battling for possession, with Finian's winning a huge number of turnovers.
The first score of the second half coming from Conor Halpin from a free. With Shane Ainsworth coming on the replace Matty O'Toole Finian's were dominating in every position.
Further scores from Lee Kavanagh (1) James Doyle (3) kept the score tipping over. The introduction of Brandon Caffrey in the 53 minute for Killian Ryan killed the game for Thomas Davis. A stunning 2 points from Brandon was followed by a brilliant goal on 60 minutes.
Great performances on the night including David Hattie, Conor Collier, James Sullivan & Packie Dunne.
The Campaign continues this Sunday with an away fixture to St Monica's in Edenmore at 11:00am. All support is welcome.
