Adult Hurling Report

Finians 2nd adult hurling team had a good win in a hotly contested match in hot conditions in Rivervalley last night v Erins Isle on a 2-16 to 3-10 scoreline.

Erins Isle started stronger striking for an early goal. However, Finians settled with good points from Stephen Donnelly who was influential upfront and from first-team manager Ciaran Groves meaning Finians trailed by 2 points at half time.

A goal in the final quarter of the match from Johnny Walsh put Finans in the driving seat but Erins Isle battled back to level. However captain Dave Kelleher led from the back and with Paddy Hattie prominent at midfield, Finians pushed on to strike 3 match-winning points to conclude a very enjoyable evening of hurling

Next match for the 2nd team is away to Naomh Mearnog on the 29th July.

The 1st team play tomorrow morning in Ridgewood at 11am in Ahl5 against Craobh Chiaran.
