Our U 14s Ladies Gaelic Football team started their championship campaign off today with a home game in Ridgewood.

After getting promoted from division 5 it was the first match at division 4. Up against them were Erin go Bragh who they had played and lost to in the league final a month ago and the away team had won well.

St Finians got off to a fast start and scored two early goals and the visitors were a bit shell shocked but they worked themselves back into the game and it was 3-2 to 3-1 at halftime to the home side.

The second half continued to be neck and neck and goals and points were scored by both teams. St Finians fought for every ball like it was their last and it was still very close coming down the straight. The home team kept their nerve for a fantastic 1 point victory and a great start to their championship campaign.

Two away trips coming up away to Cuala and St Vincentโ€™s but after todayโ€™s performance, the players have put themselves in a great position.

Final score St Finians 4-6 Erin go Bragh 5-2.
