St Finians u14s lgfa travelled to Ballyboden to play in the Championship division 4 semi final today. On a warm day in October, the players were nervous but excited before throw in. After finishing 2nd in their group B St Finians played the winners of Group A.

After winning the toss the players chose to play up a slight incline in the first half. The away team started well and went 1-1 up but Ballyboden fought back and scored 4 points to tie the game. Scores were shared but St Finians took control and scored 3 goals but again the home team fought back and scored 1-1. Half time saw a score of 4-2 to 1-6 to the travelling team.

Second half was again a tight affair but St Finians clicked into gear in the 3rd Quarter and played some exciting attacking football and stretch the lead out. Ballyboden made some changes and the introduced players added pass and directness to their play and they score 3 goals and a few points. St Finians held on for a Fantastic victory and a place in the championship final in 2 weeks' time vs Erin go Bragh.
